If you care about a topic on this site, and would like to be informed when the page changes, add it to your watchlist.
To do this, edit the page in question. At the bottom of the edit screen select the "Watch this page" checkbox; if this is the only change you're making to the page, also select the "This is a minor edit" checkbox. Then click on the "Save page" button.
You will receive email when someone changes the page. You can also use the "my watchlist" link at the top of each page to look at changes to the pages on your watchlist.
In particular, if you want to monitor changes to the Timeline, put the page and its associated "discussion" page on your watchlist.
