"Keynote Speaker - Scaling Across Mobile Devices"
9:00am - 9:45am
Abstract:
Facebook is a web utility serving over half a billion users every month, much of the population of the Internet-connected human population, primarily through its web site, www.facebook.com. But 250 million of these and growing are finding reasons to connect on mobile devices, and the increasing capability and pervasiveness of computers in your pocket means that richer, fuller social computing experiences can be made available there.
This talk will survey the growth of Facebook mobile over the years, the technical problems we"ve encountered in developing for this wide array of devices (across networking, browsers, native development, location, and more), the solutions we've found to some of the hard problems there, those problems yet to be solved, and the promise of the work that people like YOU are doing to make a wide array of meaningful interactions possible, anytime and anywhere.
